What Constitutes Personal Information

Among privacy-related information, “personal information” refers to the definition provided by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and means information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual, such as name, phone number, email address, or other descriptions contained in the information.

“History information and characteristic information,” which falls outside of the above definition of “personal information,” refers to information such as the services used, browsing history of pages and advertisements, search keywords entered by the user, date and time of use, method of use, usage environment (including communication status and setting information when using a mobile device), postal code, gender, occupation, age, user IP address, cookie information, location data, and unique device identifiers.

We may ask users to provide personal information such as their name, phone number, and email address when using our services. Additionally, we may collect transaction records, including users’ personal information, made between users and our business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad distribution partners; hereinafter referred to as “partners”).

We also collect historical and characteristic information related to users—such as the services and software used, pages viewed, search keywords, usage date and time, usage methods, and usage environment (including communication status and setting information of devices used when accessing via mobile terminals), IP address, cookie information, and LINE-related data—when users use our services or browse our pages.

  5. To refuse service to users attempting to use our services for fraudulent or improper purposes by using identifying information such as usage patterns, name, or phone number.
  6. To respond to inquiries from users by using information necessary for service provision, inquiry details, service usage status, and contact information.
  7. For purposes incidental to the above-mentioned uses.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Except in the cases listed below, we will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining prior consent from the user. However, notwithstanding the above, the following cases shall not be regarded as provision to third parties:

The following cases may involve the provision of personal information to third parties:

  5. When the following matters have been notified or made publicly available in advance:
    • That the purpose of use includes the provision of personal information to third parties
    • The items of data to be provided to third parties
    • The means or method of provision to third parties
    • That the provision of personal information to third parties will be stopped upon the individual’s request

Disclosure of Personal Information

When a person requests the disclosure of their personal information, our company will promptly disclose it to the person. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following cases, we may withhold all or part of the information, and if we decide not to disclose, we will promptly notify the person of that decision.
